Account & Data Deletion Request

In accordance with Google Play Store User Data Policies and Privacy Regulations (GDPR / CCPA), users of Aura - Visual Diary have the right to request full deletion of their account and all associated personal data. Follow the instructions below to delete your account either directly within the app or via email.
1. In-App Account Deletion (Instant Processing)
If you currently have the Aura app installed on your device, you can permanently delete your account and all data instantly:
- 1Open the Aura app on your mobile device.
- 2Go to your Profile / Settings screen.
- 3Scroll down and tap 'Delete Account'.
- 4Confirm deletion in the confirmation prompt.
- 5Your account and all associated personal data will be immediately and permanently deleted.
2. Deletion Request via Email / Web
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot log into your account, you can submit a manual deletion request:
- 1Send an email from your registered email address to aura@visualdiary.app.
- 2Set the subject line to 'Account Deletion Request'.
- 3Include your registered email address or User ID (UID) in the message body.
- 4Upon receiving your email, your account and associated data will be permanently purged within 30 calendar days, and a confirmation email will be sent to you.
3. Types of Data That Are Deleted
When account deletion is processed, all of the following personal data is permanently wiped from our servers:
- Account & Profile Info: Email address, profile picture, user name, and Firebase Auth credentials.
- Visual Journal & Memory Texts: All memory entries, journal text, voice recording transcriptions, and mood tags.
- AI Generated Art & Images: All artworks generated by AI and stored in Firebase Storage.
- AI Assistant Chat Logs: Chat history and context memory associated with the 'Ask Your Memories' assistant.
- App Preferences: Selected onboarding preferences and device-level settings.
4. Types of Data Retained & Retention Periods
Upon deletion, all personal user data is permanently erased. However, limited data may be retained for regulatory compliance:
- Financial & Subscription Records: In-app purchase receipts and subscription transaction IDs (processed via RevenueCat / App Store / Google Play) are retained for up to 90 days or as required by statutory financial and tax regulations.
- Aggregated Anonymized Analytics: Non-personally identifiable, aggregated performance metrics used solely for maintaining app stability.
